A lovely man who will be sadly missed.
Mr Simpson was the best teacher - funny, knowledgable and inspiring to his students. One of a kind.
Topman
I was fortunate to have had Paul as a colleague and friend. Many happy memories at work and play.
So sorry to hear the sad news about Paul. My thoughts are with Hilary and family
Very sorry to hear the sad news about Paul. He was a lovely bloke of whom we have very fond memories
Paul was such a good friend to many but primarily a wonderful family man. Always a wicked glint in his eye and he loved to tease. Unforgettable flat share in the seventies with what seemed half of Bradford dossing down in the lounge! Wonderful memories.
Paul will be sadly missed by all that knew him. A true-life force and a joy to be with
Such sad news. A lovely man. Many happy memories of Paul, especially on school trips.
The messages on here and the Thoughts Gallery say it all. The best teacher I had, in and out of the classroom. RIP Mr Simpson, you were one of a kind.
R.I.P. Simmo. Our sincere condolences to all your family.
Mr Simpson - Legend
R.I.P Paul , or should i say Mr Simpson
Inspired a love of history. A great teacher.
I always remember my mum saying that at parents evening, he never spoke about History. He loved chatting about me playing football. Over 15 years later, and I’m still playing for a local team, a true inspiration!
Paul was the most wonderful man you could ever wish to meet; he had the kindest face and his eyes we’re always smiling. Paul was always great fun to be around and told the best stories! I feel privileged to have known Paul and am grateful for the profound effect he had on my life. My thoughts are with his family who he adored.
I have many fond memories of Mr Simpson. In fact, I learnt to snowboard with him back in 2004/2005 during one of the yearly ski trips he organised for Sixth-formers. After we asked whether we could try snowboarding instead of skiing, he of course said that's fine and learnt with (and faster) than all of us!
Mr Simpson will forever be one of my favourite teachers and this is such a great loss. Rest in Peace Sir.
I knew Paul both as my teacher and colleague. A great man, full of knowledge and personality. You brightened my school days up considerably Paul, rest in peace.
To be perfectly honest I didn’t retain a lot of what was taught in his GCSE History lessons but I had a great unforgettable time doing it. Great times!
Such a great person who will be deeply missed
Such a loss, great fun teacher
Was a pleasure to know Simpo, always had time to chat with anybody, what a great human being!
Many thanks Paul for great memories at Orleans RFU club. RIP Simmo.
To a teacher who probably unknowingly inspired a great interest in history later in life, despite my abject failure at A Level. Thank you Sir for never actually giving up on me.
The memory of our adventures and pints together will always be cherished.
Very fond memories of working together at Queensmead over many years. Paul was the most sublime storyteller I have ever met!
In memory of his courage and good cheer.
Genuinely one of the nicest guys I have had the pleasure of knowing.
A wonderful human being. He will be sorely missed.
